Credence is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Specialist to provide direct support to the Space Staff Integration Office (SSIO) within the S8 Directorate of Space Systems Command (SSC). This role is responsible for delivering expert-level financial analysis, budget planning, and execution support across the full Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) lifecycle. The specialist will ensure financial operations align with SSC’s strategic objectives and comply with Department of Defense (DoD) financial management policies.

Salary Range

Full salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 per year, with the starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Provide comprehensive support across all phases of the PPBE process, including planning, programming, budgeting, and execution.
  • Assist in the development and submission of Program Objective Memorandum (POM) inputs, Program Budget Review (PBR) documentation, budget exhibits, and financial justifications.
  • Support the preparation, coordination, and defense of PBR materials in collaboration with SSC S8 leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track funding allocations, obligations, and expenditures across multiple appropriations (e.g., RDT&E, O&M, Procurement).
  • Analyze financial data to support enterprise-level decision-making and strategic resource alignment.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports, briefings, and data visualizations for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., SSC S8 divisions, program offices) and external partners (e.g., SAF/FM, HQ USSF) to ensure financial transparency and compliance.
  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure adherence to DoD financial regulations and internal control standards.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of financial tools, templates, and dashboards to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • US citizen with an active Top Secret / SCI security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in DoD financial management, with demonstrated knowledge of the PPBE process.
  • Familiarity with DoD financial systems and tools (e.g., DEAMS, CRIS, FMSuite).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., DoD FM Certification, CPA, CGFM).
  • Experience supporting Space Force, Air Force, or other DoD acquisition organizations.
  • Knowledge of SSC organizational structure, mission, and financial processes.
  • Experience supporting both POM and PBR cycles within a military service component.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to lift in excess of 25 lbs, standing for long periods of time, traveling across base regularly, transporting equipment, etc.
