Credence has an immediate need for a Weapon Systems Expert in support of the Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems (CROWS) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

 

The Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ) and Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) stood up the Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems (CROWS) under Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) to be the dedicated office to increase cyber resiliency of Air Force (AF) weapon systems and to maintain mission effective capability under adverse conditions.  CROWS is organizationally located under AFLCMC/EN-EZ with mission responsibility for ‘baking in’ cyber resiliency into new weapon systems and mitigation of ‘critical’ vulnerabilities in fielded weapon systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Support the development and implementation of Program Protection Plans (PPPs) for weapon systems, with a focus on cyber resiliency and protection.
  • Accomplish activities necessary to support the protection of weapon systems from cyber threats, including:
    • Conduct threat assessments and risk analyses to identify potential cyber vulnerabilities in weapon systems.
    • Recommend mitigation strategies and countermeasures to protect against cyber threats.
    • Support the development of cybersecurity plans and security authorization packages.
    • Review and evaluate technical documents, including system designs, engineering studies, and acquisition strategies, to ensure compliance with cyber resiliency and protection requirements.
    • Provide support to Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cyber resiliency and protection solutions.
    • Provide consultation on cyber-related training and supporting cybersecurity incident response efforts.
  • Appraise and recommend the technical implementation of security design to ascertain security software, hardware, and firmware features affecting confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, and non-repudiation, as documented in National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53 and/or Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 8500.1.
  • Support the assessment of the cyber posture of legacy and non-legacy systems and assist in the determination of a prioritization strategy to fix existing and future cyber vulnerabilities.
  • Review existing and future cyber vulnerability assessments to identify targeted legacy/non-legacy systems and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support the identification of current and future cyber analyses to understand and classify the criticality, risk of occurrence, and feasibility of mitigation strategies for legacy/non-legacy systems.
  • Assist in the development of reports outlining the mitigation objectives and legacy/non-legacy system cyber resiliency strategy
  • Provide support to review products that include technical evaluations/plans, engineering studies, reports, and analyses, acquisition strategies/plans, systems engineering tradeoff analysis, cybersecurity plans, security authorization package documentation, Security Classification Guide (SCG), and other program/technical documents as they relate to cybersecurity, resiliency, and survivability of the weapon systems.

Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Clearance: Top Secret or ability to obtain a Top Secret
  • Specialized Knowledge and Experience Required:
    • Possess an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Systems Engineering, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science discipline. 
    • Possess a Master of Science in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
    • Have Department of Air Force weapon systems acquisition experience. 
    • Have DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I.
    • Experience briefing senior leaders.

  • May be required to travel within the organizational geographic area of responsibility
