Credence has an immediate remote need for a skilled Windows System Administrator to maintain and support Windows servers across elevated development environments (from development to production). The successful candidate in this role will have 5 years of experience working as a Windows Systems Administrator working closely with the DBA team to ensure the stability and performance of SQL Server installations and monthly with the patching team to validate server stability. Responsibilities also include maintaining annual TLS (SSL) certificates, periodic password rotations, attaching and resizing volumes, and performing general Windows Server administration tasks as needed. In addition to having experience with enterprise Windows Server environments, the ideal candidate must bring strong troubleshooting skills, experience working with an agile team and the Jira/scrum workflow and bring a proactive approach to system maintenance and support.

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Must have 5 years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing Windows-based servers and systems within a company, including tasks like user account management, data security, system updates, performance monitoring, backup strategies, and ensuring overall system stability and security; essentially overseeing the smooth operation of a Windows environment within an organization.
  • System Installation and Configuration: Installing, upgrading, and configuring Windows operating systems on servers and workstations. 
  • User Account Management: Creating, modifying, and managing user accounts and permissions within Active Directory. 
  • Patch Management: Deploying and managing Windows updates and security patches to maintain system integrity. 
  • Backup and Recovery: Implementing and managing backup procedures to ensure data redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring system performance metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks. 
  • Security Management: Implementing security policies, managing firewalls, and monitoring for potential security threats. 
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues related to Windows systems. 
  • Application Deployment: Installing and configuring applications on Windows systems. 
  • System Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation regarding system configurations and procedures.
  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Working with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration and support.  


 

Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in Computer Science or a related field. 
  • Must be proficient in Windows Server Operating Systems: Deep knowledge of Windows Server functionalities, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and various management tools. 
  • Networking Skills: Understanding of network protocols and concepts to manage network connectivity 
  • Security Expertise: Familiarity with security best practices, threat identification, and mitigation strategies 
  • Troubleshooting Abilities: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues 
  • Scripting and Automation: Ability to write scripts to automate repetitive tasks 
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication to collaborate with users and other IT teams  
  • Must be clearable for this opening so US Citizenship is required
