USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA) is the lead federal coordinator for international disaster assistance. USAID/BHA provides and coordinates U.S. Government (USG) international humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the physical, social, and economic impact of rapid and slow-onset disasters by helping people in need become more resilient to future crises. Team Credence, through the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance Support Contract (BHASC), provides operational and administrative support to provide and coordinate humanitarian assistance and maintain 24/7 response capability.

BHA’s Office of Field and Response Operations (FARO) leads and manages operational assistance and the purchase and delivery of goods and services in response to declared foreign disasters and international humanitarian needs in key functional areas on behalf of USAID/BHA, including supply-chain management, procurement, logistics, oversight, and operational coordination with the U.S. military.

This Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist position is located within the Response Resources Division (R2D) within FARO. Day-to-day work assignments and oversight are provided by the R2D Division Chief or their designee with formal supervisory and evaluation functions performed by a ZemiTek contract supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Provide data analytics and developing projections based on available response information and synthesize findings for leadership.
  • Manage performance data and update relevant databases, trackers and spreadsheets regularly.
  • Manage data across multiple systems as required.
  • Maintain and provide recommendations to improve existing guidance and KM tools.
  • Maintain staffing databases and provide accessible knowledge resources to the rest of BHA on staffing availability, skills, and previous BHA experience.
  • Research means of capturing program and technical skills and expertise to strengthen professional staff response readiness.
  • Assist in supporting teams in applying knowledge management principles and best practices.
  • At the direction of the R2D Chief/Team Lead, assist in execution of long-range plans, goals, and objectives of the Knowledge Management program.
  • Train employees on using Knowledge Management tools and filing systems within the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Assist the R2D Division to identify the internal and external best Knowledge Management practices.
  • Coordinate with colleagues in FARO and other BHA offices, as requested, in support of knowledge management and learning activities. 
  • Support teams in applying knowledge management principles and best practices.
  • Develop and support implementation of templates and systems to standardize communication, learning, and capacity development.
  • Prepare  and report out on the Office level learning initiatives.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum Education and Experience 
    • MA/MS and 0 years of relevant experience, OR
    • BA/BS and 2 years of relevant experience, OR
    • High school diploma and 6 relevant years of experience
    • Experience must culminate in a set of responsibilities similar to those of this position.
  • Preferred Education and Experience
    • MA/MS and at least 2 years of experience in content management, information science, or data science, OR
    • BA/BS and at least 4 years of experience in content management, information science, or data science, OR
    • High school diploma and 8 years of experience in content management, information science, or data science
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance for the duration of your employment.

  • Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
    • In-person work requirement with the ability to telework;
    • Lifting in excess of 25 lbs, standing for long periods of time, transporting equipment, etc. may be required depending on role.

Full pay range for this position is $86,000.00 to $102,000.00 per year, with the starting wage determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.
