The Task Lead – SME, Financial Analyst will provide expert-level financial and programmatic support to the SSC/S8 SSIO in all aspects of Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) for the SSC Space Acquisition Portfolio. This role requires a highly experienced professional capable of operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, supporting senior leadership engagements and classified program activities.

Salary Range

Full salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 per year, with the starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • POM Planning & Execution:
    Lead and coordinate SSC’s Program Objective Memorandum (POM) planning efforts. Collaborate with SSC programs, FM cost teams, USSF, and SAF/SQ. Prepare internal/external documentation, brief leadership, and support classified POM discussions.

  • Planning Choices:
    Support SSC/S8 in leading/co-leading planning choices activities. Coordinate with FM cost staff and USSF to prepare leadership for corporate-level meetings.

  • Budget Justification (BES & PB):
    Assist in reviewing and editing SSC’s Acquisition Budget Justification (RDT&E and Procurement) during BES and PB cycles. Ensure R-Docs and P-Docs reflect accurate rationale and decisions.

  • PPBE Analysis:
    Apply critical thinking to develop, train, brief, and review all phases of PPBE. Incorporate CCMD’s Integrated Priority List (IPL) into POM options.

  • Programmatic Support:
    Collect, organize, and analyze cost, schedule, and performance data. Draft and coordinate acquisition documentation for senior stakeholders including CSO, SAF/AQ, SECAF, OSD, and others.

  • Strategic Planning:
    Analyze defense planning guidance and ensure alignment with SSC strategic products. Support development of the SSC Strategic Plan and other enterprise-wide planning efforts.

  • Budget Database Maintenance:
    Recommend updates to budget databases such as PBES. Utilize MS Office and other tools to document and present financial data. Provide monthly updates to SSC leadership.

  • Communication & Documentation:
    Maintain clear, concise, and technically accurate communication. Ensure all work is documented, safeguarded, and stored on government-approved systems (e.g., EFP, SharePoint).

Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in DoD financial management, with emphasis on PPBE
  • Proven experience supporting senior-level leadership and classified programs
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and budget systems (e.g., PBES)
