Overview

At Credence, we understand graphic design as a vital form of visual storytelling that not only engages and informs but also inspires our audience. We are in search of a highly talented graphic designer who possesses the unique ability to transform concepts and ideas into compelling visual stories across both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate for this role will exhibit an expert level of proficiency in contemporary design software and demonstrate mastery over every phase of the design process, from concept initiation to the delivery of final products.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on various materials, including but not limited to web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Creating visual content for a variety of mediums, including video, graphics, and web design.
  • Transform strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
  • Initiate design concepts manually or with software, and produce original content by choosing appropriate colors, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Oversee the design and upload process for all project materials, following best practices for content management system utilization.
  • Apply trend intelligence and an understanding of both historical and current market dynamics in design execution and specific classifications.
  • Design and animate motion and web graphics
  • Develop creative and engaging promotional, short-form video to promote the brand through different social media platforms and any internal websites.
  • Edit and optimize graphics and video content for social media platforms
  • Takes the lead on video projects from concept to delivery (storyboard, design, animation, feedback, QA, and production).
  • Provide technical support for design- and video-related efforts;
  • Develops graphics, illustrations, and other creative materials for the web, social, and other digital platforms that is on-brand, reinforces our status and reputation, and is appropriate for our various audiences;
  • Design and layout of materials for internal communications and business materials.
  • Work with Internal teams with edits to digital assets (videos, content downloads etc).
  • Create infographics and presentation materials to simplify communication of complex concepts and data.

Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Multimedia and Graphic Design, or related field, or demonstrated success in relevant professional fields.
  • 2+ years experience in graphic design
  • Strong visual communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts and data through images;
  • Experience with graphic design and production principles and processes; experience in camera operation, location and set management, audio, lighting, sound editing and mixing
  • Experience developing strategic visual content for social media
  • Experience with developing graphics, illustrations, videos, gifs, and other creative materials for web, social, and other digital platforms
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills;
  • Technically proficient with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.

Exceptional creativity and innovation in design skills.

  • A minimum of five years of experience (including academic pursuits) with design software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • A commitment to continual skill development through further education and training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of professional graphic design experience, ideally within a creative or marketing agency setting.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with WordPress and other content management systems.
  • Photography skills and proficiency in photo-editing software.

 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

 

Occasional travel to Vienna, VA or DLA HQ (Ft Belvoir) may be needed.
